Routing, Drilling and Oscillating.
Its been a busy month in the workshop this month. As well as the lovely guitars that have come by for a tweak or two, there have been a few tool arrivals.
A Hole in One
I've had my eye on this pillar drill for several months so it was very satisfying to finally get it installed. Finding the metal trolley going free by the side of the road gave me the push I needed. He has already made his presence felt, helping out with a router table insert and 25mm holes for a few hardwood dowels. So much more to come...
All Shapes and Sizes
Another project that's been on the go for the last couple of months. A very sturdy table for the shop's router. The top is extra wide to take pieces large enough to rout all body shapes. Oh, and the socket additions courtesy of the loft hatch fitted in an earlier article.
Waves and Warbles
Finally, this pair. Long story short, the studio's Blackstar HT Stage 60 has been less than reliable. Last week it lost power and neither a change of valves or initial inspection resolved it. Time to add an oscilloscope and signal generator to the tool set. They have been put to work tracing the signal through from the input stage, which seems to have given the amp enough of a fright and brought it to life. Its under close observation now! Upshot, we can offer more than just tube changes on your amps now.
